Character Development + Instagram Series for SiSuSuSI

This fall, SiSuSuSi, a Portland-based sustainability project, is launching a four-week recycling campaign for residents of a Pearl District condominium. The campaign explores paper, glass, plastic, and metal through storytelling, cultural references, humor, and conversation.Recycling serves as an entry point into larger questions of sustainability: how systems shape behavior, how habits form, how minds change, and where change is possible. At the center of the campaign are RB & BB - Red Ball and Blue Ball (formerly Green Ball). They are two simple characters with different ways of seeing the world. Through brief exchanges on Instagram, RB & BB model behavior and provide comic relief. They bring personality to subjects that can otherwise feel instructional or abstract, instilling playfulness, curiosity, and the possibility of positive change.

Creative Opportunity

The concepts are developed. The dialogue is written. The balls just need costuming. We are looking for someone who can quickly turn an idea into a clean, engaging Instagram post, costuming RB & BB, arranging the elements, and, when opportunity presents itself, finding the visual joke.

Scope

  • 12 three- to four-panel installments

  • Costuming the Balls

  • Dialogue and creative direction provided by SiSuSuSi

  • Final deadline: September 26th

Fee

SiSuSuSi is a small, self-funded community project, which is reflected in the modest budget. The concepts and dialogue are already developed; the assignment is intentionally simple and focused on quick, clean visual execution rather than elaborate illustration.

Ownership & Copyright
